Road Fund
Through our road fund, we ensure remote roads throughout the Cobano District are cleared and functioning–from dry season well into rainy season. This support ensures our more remote communities are able to get around all year.
The Road Fund is an ongoing project to ensure all communities in our area have access to safe transportation, whether it’s dry or rainy season. As we all know, many of our local roads become impassable, dangerous, and hard to navigate during our months of heavy rain. This creates issues of mobility for residents to be able to move safely among town, particularly for those residents who ride motos or do not have transportation with 4WD. The Road Fund aims to solve this problem, by working collaboratively with specific roads and their neighbors to address road infrastructure needs.
Currently, the Road Fund is working with 1 neighborhood to conduct an engineering and topographic survey to assess the viability of paving their road. The road fund will continue to assess roads that need improved infrastructure, to keep our residents safe and moving freely no matter what month of the year it is.
