Community-Family Fund

The Community-Family Fund was created as a community-led initiative to support children and families in the area, particularly those facing greater social or economic challenges. What began as a Christmas fundraiser through the Light & Wonder Christmas Market to support the Santa Teresa After-School Program has grown into a broader effort supporting children, families, and youth through education, creativity, sports, music, literacy, and family support.

Santa Teresa After-School Program

In 2026, the Fund created the Santa Teresa After-School Program, providing a free, safe, and joyful space for children after school hours. We are also working to establish official guarderías (childcare programs) to access government support. 

The program aims to remove financial barriers and promote inclusion, dignity, and social integration by creating a shared space where children can learn, play, and grow together. From Monday to Friday, 1:30–3:30 pm, children share a snack, participate in a group activity, enjoy free or guided play, and finish with a closing circle and reflection.

Activities include:

• Movement and body awareness

• Life skills and financial literacy

• Choir and theater

• Arts and crafts

• Dance and rhythm

Our Next Goal: A Bilingual Public Library

The Community-Family Fund is now taking its next step: establishing a bilingual public library for children and youth in Santa Teresa, in partnership with the Asociación de Desarrollo Integral.

The library will provide access to books, learning resources, and a welcoming space for reading, creativity, and discovery—helping build a stronger culture of literacy and lifelong learning in our community.
