Help us support the programmatic work of Asociación Cívica de Hermosa (ACH).
AN INVESTMENT PROPOSITION IN SUSTAINABILITY, COMMUNITY, AND CONSERVATION.
The Asociación Cívica de Hermosa (ACH) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that development in Playa Hermosa and beyond, is guided by community priorities, environmental sustainability, and long-term public benefit.
While ACH is based in Playa Hermosa, its work benefits the entirety of Cobano and particularly the coastal areas of the municipality. Unlike an ADI (Asociación de Desarrollo Integral), ACH is not legally limited to a defined local geographic area of operations. Instead, ACH takes what it learns and does in Hermosa to the wider community along the coast. Similarly, ACH also participates in municipal and regional efforts in a broader, strategic approach to influence sustainable development, conservation, and land-use planning.
By starting in Hermosa, ACH pilots solutions that can be expanded to benefit the greater area. Initiatives contribute to:
✔ Municipal planning and environmental policies that protect natural spaces and other efforts.
✔ Stronger conservation efforts of the Cabo Blanco Reserve and the protected coastal waters off of our shore .
✔ Development that balances tourist growth with long-term social development and ecological health.
ACH is community-driven but regionally impactful—ensuring that local solutions support the long-term resilience of the entire municipality and coastline communities throughout Costa Rica.
Any donations to the ACH fund go towards supporting these broader community efforts. All donations receive a U.S.-based tax receipt. For additional questions and/or complex donations, email us at info@nicoyapeninsulafoundation.org.
