Environment
Protecting our environment is paramount. We must address critical issues such as deforestation, water pollution, and biodiversity loss. Together, through funding vital projects, we can ensure the greater Santa Teresa Area remains pristine for generations to come.
We are actively identifying key projects that NPF should support, guided by the input of our community and donors. Some essential projects and efforts include:
Clean Water: Dedicated efforts towards ensuring clean oceans and river water, primarily through NP Waterkeepers.
Land Conservation: Initiatives to purchase and protect land and forests in our area, alongside sustainable land conservation solutions like carbon credits. Key efforts include the Karen Mogensen Reserve in the Montezuma Area and collaborations with Land Stewardship Co. for the Rio Ario to Rio Frio Area.
Wildlife Protection: Endeavors to safeguard and rehabilitate native wildlife, focusing on endangered species such as Howler Monkeys and Scarlet Macaws.
Join us in our mission to preserve the natural beauty and biodiversity of the Nicoya Peninsula. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on our environment and ensure a sustainable future for all.
