Santa Teresa Community Fund

A community-led initiative for Santa Teresa’s children

This fund began with a simple act of care: Santa Teresa moms coming together to bring light and wonder to our children during Christmas time. As we listened to one another and to the school at the heart of our town, one need became clear: Santa Teresa Public School children need safe, meaningful spaces after the school ends urgently.

While the Nicoya Peninsula Foundation is working on the long-term solution of expanding facilities, our community stepped in to provide immediate support by helping Santa Teresa Public School launch an after-school program using the spaces it already has.

The Afterschool Gap

Powered by local volunteers, community talent, and funds raised by families, local schools, and local businesses, the after-school program reflects the very best of Santa Teresa coming together.

We envision offerings and partnerships to create: a kids' reading club and new books; small beautification and cleaning projects; art and creative workshops; emotional and self-awareness activities; surf lessons and water-safety education; and soft- and life-skills training.

Why It Matters

Every child in Santa Teresa deserves a safe place to grow, dream, and discover their gifts. These programs offer structure, mentorship, and meaningful experiences during the hours when children need support the most.

This fund helps us take action now, while long-term infrastructure is being built.

Thank you for helping create a brighter, safer future for our children — together.
