Help us Build Five New Classrooms for Full-Time Learning
at Santa Teresa Escuela
Rapid growth has overwhelmed the school’s outdated infrastructure. Children rotate in half-day shifts leaving many unsupervised and vulnerable to early exposure to drugs and gang-related activity. Without immediate expansion, an entire generation risks falling behind academically and socially.
Phase 1 Completed
Phase 1 focused on stabilizing the campus and preparing the site for new construction. The work addressed critical health, safety, and infrastructure issues that had to be resolved before adding classrooms. With these improvements complete, the school is now ready for Phase 2.
Installed a new greywater tank and grease trap to replace collapsing, foul-smelling systems and resolve a Ministry of Health order.
Demolished a deteriorated classroom that blocked safe construction access.
Replaced a hazardous drain cover in the central play area after it injured the principal.
Installed a donated playground, restoring a safe recess area for students.
Added a new announcement board to strengthen communication with families.
Cleared trash, overgrowth, and clogged drains to create a clean, safe site for architectural planning.
Help Us Build Phase 2
Phase 2 delivers the core expansion that will provide a full-day of education for all 274 students. With the site now ready through our success in Phase 1, we plan to break ground in January on the new facilities.
This phase includes three new primary classrooms at the front of the campus, two preschool classrooms with integrated bathrooms at the back, and an expanded dining hall with a covered deck large enough for all students. The work also upgrades electrical, water, septic, and drainage systems, adds bridge access, and completes the safety measures required across the property.
Once built, these additions enable the Ministry of Education to place the five new teachers for the school and shift all students to a full nine-hour day.
With donated architectural designs and full site preparation complete, the project is ready to move into construction. Contributing to Phase 2 ensures we break ground in early 2026 and keep the school on track for full-day learning.
