Give Santa Teresa’s Children the Education They Deserve
The Santa Teresa School is at the heart of our community, but it's facing a critical challenge that puts our children's futures at risk. Serving 274 students from preschool to 6th grade, a severe shortage of classrooms means children can only attend school for four hours a day. This limited learning time not only hinders their education but leaves many unsupervised while their parents work, contributing to early exposure to drugs and gang related violence.
The Nicoya Peninsula Foundation has a clear plan to solve this crisis. We are embarking on a project to build five new classrooms and expand the school's dining hall. This essential expansion will transform the school, enabling a full 9-hour day of learning with the complete curriculum. It will also allow five new teachers, already confirmed by the Ministry of Education, to join the staff and ensure every child receives three nutritious meals a day in a safe, supportive environment.
After successfully upgrading the school's essential infrastructure to create a safe foundation, we now need your help to complete the vision. We are raising $495,000 to build the new classrooms and facilities. With $100,000 already committed by generous donors, we need to raise the final $395,000 to make this project a reality. Please join us in building a brighter, safer future for the next generation of Santa Teresa.
